Not really. Romo looked like he had a lot of potential..why trash him so soon? He did make the Pro Bowl remember...he goofed the snap...sure..but he did well before that right? I think it was stupid that they didn't draft a player they needed more though...like Safety...Roy Williams either needs a smack in the face or somebody to help him deep, he just wasn't cutting it last year.

At this stage it's all a crap shoot. I'll have to admit that I as a die-hard fan wanted to see Quinn come to Dallas, but I also want to see Romo succeed.
The Cowboys are extending their trust in Romo and I can not fault that thinking. They are also showing that they believe in the new coaches and providing them with the opportunit to succeed with what is here.
In turn the Cowboys selected a piece of the defense that matches up well with Ware. The Cowboys could have one of the strongest and most aggressive defenses in the NFL.
In addition, the Cowboys obtained a potential top 5 Draft pick next year. The Cowboys are looking to win now and they are in a position to contend for a Superbowl Title. Brady Quinn was not going to be a part of the win now mentality.
If Romo fails the Cowboys will be in a position next year to go after a Franchice QB Prospect...if Romo succeeds and is the present and future, then the Cowboys will be able to draft the final piece of the puzzle and quite possibly win the Superbowl next year and in mulitple years!!!
Overall, I believe this was a solid decision as I review what the Cowboys picked up...the old glass is half full thinking!!!

well the Dolphins passing him up was a bonehead move, but the Cowboys look like they have a franchise QB. Quinn will have sucsess in the NFL, no doubt. But Romo is looking good, too. Or at least in the begging.
In my opinion Romo is very similar to Rex Grossman. He started out amazing, then he had some terrible games, then he was just ok the rest of the time. In my opinion Quinn WILL do better than Romo in the long run, but for now the Cowboys aren't looking to take a chance or create a descion to be made between QB's

Not really. Apart from that one botched snap in the playoffs, Romo had a very promising year: 12 games, 65.3% completion rate, 2903 yards, 19 TDs, 13 INTs, 95.1 passer rating. The Cowboys also signed Brad Johnson to be his backup, and have Matt Baker and Isaiah Stanback waiting in the wings.
Brady Quinn will be a good QB in the league (so long as the Browns' O-line performs better for him than it did for their last franchise QB, Tim Couch), but the Cowboys in particular didn't need him. However, the Cowboys are going to LOVE having two first round picks next season.

NO it was very very smart.
The 'boys have Romo.
Finally found someone to be the next QB in big D why get rid of him. or even worse hurt his confidence by drafting Quinn. (we all know he needs as much confidence as possible(remember the wildcard game versus seahawks))(unfortunatly i do) Dallas made the right move by showing trust in Tony Romo.
plus Dallas can make a deep playoff run if not Super Bowl.
Now they just got a top 10 pick next year because of the Browns

I think it was stupid for picks 1-21 to turn him down...and as the one above me said, especially the Dolphins at #9, which probably would have made the MOST SENSE...Culpepper is not the answer in Miami, and I guess they want to find that out the hard way...Quinn is gonna be in the mold of Tom Brady...and will have a Super Bowl within 5 years...

No, the Cowboys have their quarterback in Tony Romo, why would they want to pick up another in the first round. They had other needs that they wanted to address and felt that an extra second round pick this year and a first round pick next year is worth giving up Quinn.

I think team scout know more about players they want than the talking heads like Mel Diaper. Quinn fell so far for a reason, he is nothing special. I wouldn't be surprised if the kid from BYU turned out to be a better pick.
