Foliar spray to help feed and fight fungus
Compost tea Label directions or if homemade 1:4 water
Blackstrap Molasses 2 tablespoons/gallon
Seaweed 2 tablespoons/gallon
Natural apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon/gallon
(Optional ingredients)
Fish emulsion 2-3 tablespoons per gallon (may not need when using compost tea)
Baking soda 1 rounded tablespoon/gallon
Liquid biostimulants per label (Agrispon, AgriGro, Medina, Bioform or similar product)
SPRAY SCHEDULE:
1st spraying at pink bud in the Spring.
Additional sprayings as necessary. For best results, spray at least once a month.
Compost Tea
Put a shovel full of good compost in a 5 gallon bucket of water, wait one week, and apply to garden or roses either full strength or up to a 1:4 water ratio. This is an excellent source of ready available soluble nutrients. NOTE: If you stir your brew daily or every other day, it helps get more oxygen to the mix for better decomposition and better aerobic microbial population growth. Un-aerated teas can continue to keep alive some aerobic or aerobic/anaerobic microbes, for up to 10 days in a watery solution. After 10 days, the whole un-aerated tea will contain only anerobic microbes.
Options to the basic recipe;
Add to the recipe a few cups of alfalfa pellets or some other cattle feed. Now you have extra nitrogen and trace elements from the bacterial foods.
Coffee is best for use in alkaline soils. However you can compost it to neutralize the acidity or mix your own fertilizer with it.
Example N-P-K: _2-4-2
4 parts coffee ground
1 part bone meal
1 part wood ashes
Coffee is acidic while wood ashes are basic so this is a balanced use of the two.
Use coffee grounds alone at no more than 1lb/100 sq ft unless on acid loving plants

I read an article about putting about 1 cup of Epsom salts around the base and then raking it in a bit. I did this and my roses are beautiful. Oh, I also watered them pretty good after wards. I think it has something to do with the magnesium the salts have.

Roses love potassium. Wrap whole banana peels around the base of the rose. I've done this for years, and my roses are fabulous.
