Bin Laden and Al Zawahiri are Sunni. If it is true that Sunni tribesmen killed al-Masri, does that mean that Iraqis don't want Al Qaeda in their country? Does this mean Bush's dire predictions about what will happen if the U.S. pulls out of Iraq, are also lies?

al-Masri was a top aide to al Zarqawi, the unusually sadistic and vicious leader whose death was permitted by Sunni activists in Iraq. That death signaled a greater willingness on the part of Sunnis to engage in the democratic process rather than resisting it. I am guessing that al Masri's death, if true, would be a similar sign that Sunnis are moving toward democracy in Iraq.

They are tired of living in fear and they know if we leave they will have no choice. It will be like it was under Saddam's reign. They've tasted liberty and they realize it is on them to secure it and not us to provide, but to facilitate
