I think Willis will have a bigger impact for the 49ers. It's a young team that is rebuilding and he's going to be able to shine. He's going to become a leader and seems to really have a knack for making big plays.

Timmons will probably be good too, but I think he's going to be overshadowed (at least early on in his career) by all the other names on that team.

Timmons will have a chance to shine in the Steelers defense, but he'll also have to beat out Clark Haggans and James Harrison for a starting job, not an easy task. I'm sure Tomlin will find ways to get Timmons on the field, but the coaching staff has to figure out if they're going to transition to a 4-3 base or not & different players will benefit or be hurt by the transition in different ways (if it occurs).

Willis will be able to help the 49ers right away since their defense is weak & they lost Julian Peterson. Considering that we have no idea whether either player will stick with the team beyond their five-year rookie contracts, we can only look at those five years & Willis will have more chances to contribute, from the looks of it.

Patrick Willis hands down. And not because he's a better player, I honestly think they're both great talents, but San Fran has had a crappy defense in recent years and lost Julian Peterson to Seattle...Willis was needed. They also picked up several players in Free Agency to beef the defense. I think just because San Fran is building a defense now that Willis will have a better year. Timmons in Pittsburgh is like putting one more Cougar in a cage full of Cougars..he's just another guy on defense for them..but he'll do great.

Willis. 49ers D, though it had moments of greatness last year, had a lot of holes that opposing teams could exploit.

This year, new story. Nolan has made so many improvements on defense that opposing offenses are going to have to really work to find the holes.

The corners are pro bowlers and our safety is pretty good too.

So teams will look to the middle, and that is right where Willis is going to have to prove himself.

PERFECT pick for the 49ers. Willis is going to be a beast.

Timmons will help more because with Porter gone they will need an impact player from day one. Pitt has veterans that will help him as the season goes by.
