Um.....I don't wash behind my ears. LOL. I just figure it's clean because all the shampoo from when I wash my hair ends up back there. I don't really ever think about behind my ears......but now I'm going to spend the rest of the day thinking about it.

Because behind our ears stink. It probably stinks worse than any other part of our body, if not washed. But then your argument doesn't hold much water. Most of the parts of our bodies which we wash most often are very much less visible than behind our ears,

If you don't wash behind your ears then the backs get all dry and it hurts.

You obviously haven't heard of the 'Behind the Ears Police'?
They come up behind you in queues in post offices and take a sneaky look at the back of your ears.
If there's dirt there - it's a bucket of water for you, me lad

if you wear your hair up you can see behind your ears. if you've never washed behind your ears in your entire life it might start to smell a little! *shrugs* who knows why we do the things we do.

It ain't a question of looking. It is a question of SMELLING. If you don't wash behind your ears, they will smell like stinky cheese!!! and so will your hair.

my hair is short so yes you can see behind my ears, but even if you couldn't by your reasoning we shouldn't wash anything that can't be seen, great way to conserve water tho.
