"High roller" "Lose a lot of money" "Gambling Splurge" "$25 a hand"

We must be doing it all wrong. LOL

We play Nickel/Dime/Quarter Video Poker 99% of the time and we get free rooms/food/booze/show tickets/etc all the time.

June 6th - July 5th - 29 nights in LV >all free< actually better than free since we are getting several hundred dollars in "show up" money plus the vast majority of our meals will be comp and other little "freebies"

~Jack~
.

P.S. >And no we don't lose money, at least not very often. We have not had a trip in at least 4 years in which we didn't come home with more money than we left with, and we pay for everything(that we have to>Transportation, the odd meal that isn't comped, etc) with cash >the lone exception is we will use the CC for gifts<. Yes, we keep accurate records of every gambling session. If it goes in the machine we write it down, when/if we cash out, it's either a plus or minus session.

We do include, show up money, cash back, match play and free play. In our total win/loss.

You want free rooms? > Give the casino what they want >Play >The interesting part is finding a hotel/casino you like that has the games you want to play >And then, how much play is necessary to score those "free rooms". Sometimes it takes very little play(1K or less) to get on the marketing radar of a casino. Not one of the 3 or 4 star hotels that we receive regular free night offers from requires more than 5K per day(the equivalent of 5 hours of .25c video poker play for the average player(s))

I say player(s) because sometimes it's to your advantage to have the both of you play on one account and sometimes it's to your advantage to have separate accounts>Depending on your level of play and the casino.

What you need to know to come out ahead of the game
What to play
How to play
where to play
How to manage your bankroll

To try and explain everything involved would take a book, literally. Read either of these books to get a good idea of what it takes and where to start.

A way to get your foot in the door the first time.
The ACG - American Casino Guide - 2-4-1 coupons for hotel stays.
The LVA - Las Vegas Advisor's - POV - 2-4-1 coupons for hotel stays
These will identify you as a player to the hotel/casino, what you do once you have your foot in the door is up to you.

DO NOT chase comps, never ever-ever-ever play more than you're comfortable with and can afford to lose. When gambling stops being fun, it's time to stop.

Have fun.

Unfortunately, most free hotel rooms in Las Vegas usually end up being very, very expensive. However, I can tell you how you might get your room comp'd, as well as a few free meals, and a couple of show tickets if you're lucky. The trick is to gamble... but you must follow a few simple rules. First, don't go crazy.. you don't have to gamble a lot of money. I would suggest at least $25 a hand if you can afford it. Second, find a game you know how to play and play safe. The idea is not necessarily to win money... most people don't... the goal is to be able to play for a couple of hours without losing money... not too hard to do if you know what you are doing. When you first sit down, tell the dealer you want to have your play 'rated'. That means the pit boss will look over every once in a while to see how much you are betting. It does you no good whatsoever to vary your bet. If you bet $10 most of the time, and $50 every once in a while, you will still be rated at $10 per hand. The idea is to sit at one table for a long time.. a couple of hours at a stretch... and bet the same amount over and over and over. It doesn't matter if you lose or if you win... just that you bet. The day before you check out, you need to go to the pit boss and ask for your room to be comp'd. He will look at your rating info, and if you have played long enough, he will do it. FREE ROOM!

Nothing in Vegas is really free. To score a free room in Vegas, your going to have to spend big bucks in the casino
you want to stay in. A $200+ gambling splurge might get you
a $10 lunch coupon.
Instead, check out some of the lower priced hotels on the
strip, Circus Circus is usuall $55 on week-nights and the
Frontier & Imperial Palace a bit more.
...OR, even cheaper, are some of the smaller motels, just
a block behind the strip, they don't have the glitter of the big places but don't charge the prices either.
