The idea that Venezuela is a threat to the US is preposterous.
We have no right to invade them, and expect the UN to lead a coalition against the US should Bush be that stupid.

Americans need to respect EVENTUALLY that the Arctic, latinos and even Mexicans.. walked the lands of North America for thousands and possibly hundreds of thousands of years.. and never in history has there been the issues of today..
Sadly.. it is USA that was formed there only 450 years ago.. which needs to adopt to the rest of the continents.. and not the other way around.
Venezuela has every right to own and control it's own destiny and have an economic plan.. For USA to constantly interfere and manipulate the affairs of every other nation in the region, only shows massive disrespect, fosters total lack of trustability in USA and creates isolation.
If Venezuela is rich.. let them BE rich.. if they don't wish ot share with USA.. its THEIR PREROGATIVE!! no need for USA to interfere with its affairs plotting assasinations and stuff like that as USA has done in the past..
We've seen this same problem in Iraq.. where USA feels it can simply FORCE it's wills and ways of life onto the nation.. usually under the guise of being threatened.. which is absurd in the case of an latino country.. all are so destitute and poor..
Ironically.. why is it whenever USA has gone in to start a war to helpa belegered country.. that it has come out of it controlling oil and gas in those countrys????
Ironic or just good luck?? USA got lucky or did it plot and scheme the whole event???
I think it's time Americans stay in America.. use your own resources.. and live your own lives in peace.. and let people in other nations do the same..

What on Earth would we gain by invading Venezuela? Is this another cowboy mentality thing or what? Maybe it is just being childish. Somebody teases or calls names you gotta take him out, at all costs, whatever it takes. How dare him talk to the god like that.
Seriously, folks why are so many people worried about a two bit dictator? Doing that got us in trouble many times before. Have we not learned from our mistakes?

Venezuela has allot of oil even look here at Yahoo news. So I don't really consider Venezuela a threat. If we go to war it might have a different agenda behind it. But I do think there is a small chance that there are real reasons behind this but not likely.

exactly what he is doing now will eventually be sold to the American public as a threat to national security.
personally i think oil supply is a national security issue, and shouldn't be in the hands of corporations that owes loyalty only to stock holders. so in that aspect i think Chavez is doing what is right for his country.
being buddy buddy with Iran, and trying to go too far with the fanatic leftist ideology of Cuban leader, Castro, is a bit much and will probably lead to his eventual downfall.

Why waste the money & manpower. A few more years under Hugo and they'll self destruct anyway. I give him about six months after he declares himself Presidente for Life or some other such nonsense.
