I figured Urban Meyer would have cried to all teams drafting in the 7th round.....I guess we will just have to wait to hear from Leak when Meyer writes his book about his Gators.

Because he's 5'11", barely 200 lbs. soaking wet and he has a pop-gun arm. He was a system quarterback at Florida, that's why he succeeded (barely) there. None of that is going to cut it in the NFL.

I think a big thing was the fact that he had four years to develop under multiple systems, and never really showed the poise and prowess that it takes to be an NFL QB. Don't get me wrong, he was good, and especially this past year, but they never would have even made the championship without alternating he and Tebow through the course of the year. They fact that he is like 5'11" (2 inches SHORTER than troy smith) couldn't have helped him either. Oh well, he is on the bears with a free agent contract, so we'll see what happens. Maybe he'll rise up and replace a certain other gators QB on that team.

Meyer's begging must not have been enough?

Chris Leak became a suitable college quarterback yet he did no longer have the the superb option stuff to make it the nfl. His length is what have been given interior the way. he became to important to make it. If some team gave him a huge gamble and positioned time and funds into him he could have been good by using fact he had good arm and many organic skills however the could have been a bust like such lots of quarterbacks attempting to make interior the nfl if he could desire to no longer alter in the present day to the nfl form of enjoying.

because hes 5'11" and in the NFL thats like being 4'7" in college...its crazy...if he was 1 inch taller he would ahve been picked up late, but because hes under 6 ft teams passed on him...

look at what happened Doug Flutie and even Dree Brees ( 6 ft even) was doubted early on...

how about Trent Edwards getting drafted so high??!?!?!? he didnt win a single game his SR year...

A decent college QB. Will be a backup NFL QB at best, probably not even that.

Too short for a prototypical NFL QB.
