The question I have is why do you want to take it out? Is the display dark but the radio still works? If that's the case, Honda extended the warranty on those radios and they will repair it at no charge up to 7 years or 75,000 miles. Take it to Honda if thats the case.

If you want to pull it out for another reason, I can tell you that unless you have 3 hands and the special tools you're guaranteed to break something. To get that audio unit out requires removing the center console, the lower pocket, the upper panel then the audio unit. The upper panel needs a special tool as does the console trim removal. It can be done without them but you will cause more damage than it will cost to have the Honda dealer pull the audio unit out for you. If you really want the procedure, send me an email.

Hope that answers your question

I had a 97 Accord, to take the stereo out you had to remove the center console, once you did that it became obvious. The key is to pull out the liner in the storage area under the arm rest - it hides the secret screws.

You would have to take it to the Honda dealership because the radio is ANTI-THEFT so it is almost impossible unless you use the ax and stuff like the other guy said. =]

I would suggest you to take that to dealer. Because it has a radio transponder chip which is coded to your "remote unlocking" key. if you do not want to use the factory supplied remote unlocking key then look at your user manual or if you are trying to put something new like" navigation +dvd changer" then look at the manual.
