Pretty much any recycling center or transfer station or any other place that handles universal hazardous waste will take it in. You'll probably incur a small charge (it's about $2 a monitor/tv here) for the disposal but well worth bypassing the hundreds of dollars in fines for improper disposal of hazardous materials.
Call the landfill or town office if you do not know where your local universal hazardous waste drop-off location is.
