o.k tactic is the wrong word.I always just try and let them past if I can.
must be getting old,speeding has kind of lost its appeal,now I know the dangers.and also my beautiful cat got run over,prob because of someone speeding in the WRONG place.how can they live with themselves?

If you can't pull over and let them by then just drive the speed limit until you can let them by.
I think you have to ask yourself if it's worth killing someone's Dad or Mom, or having yourself injured before you do some stupid stunt on the road.
Don't even think that it would be ok if they hit you because their insurance would pay. Even if the other driver paid for everything you're out time, the incident goes on your insurance report, and your car will have a repair record that will reduce it's value.
So, don't do anything, focus on driving safely, and let them by as soon as you can. If you feel the need then report it to the police as a reckless driver in a certain area. Police will often keep an eye on a stretch of road where people complain of dangerous situations.

well obiously the person is an a**hole for tailgaiting. dont understand why people always in a hurry to get somewhere. the worlds going at a pace and theres just some people who try to beat time but speed=accidents and its just eaiser to steer a bit off the road to let the driver pass you up. simly turn ur hazzards on and get off to the side a lil bit and the driver should pass you up like a rocket. even though hes probably risking his life and the life of others or even a ticket for 3 mins hes saving in the long run.

Probably the best thing to do would be to just ignore them and continue along the road at a safe speed if your paying attention to the car behind you rather than the road ahead your going to have an accident.
Let them make the mistake its not worth your license or your life.

Well..just maintain the speed you want to letting the prat behind stay in a mood because he cannot get passed..and when he does pass either smile and wave, blow a kiss or just stick your fingers up...hey it works for me :D

It's always great to see how quick people are to judge the motives of others. Speeding? Must be a jerk. Trying to get around you? My, how inconsiderate of them.
We always assume that they are just speeding for no reason. God forbid the idiots that slam their brakes on end up getting themselves and possibly many others killed. What kind of moron slams their brakes on to teach someone a lesson by possibly killing them?
Imagine your child is sick and you are driving her to the hospital for a doctor's appointment. Now imagine that she starts convulsing. What do you do? Do you drive slowly and wait patiently for vehicles in front of you or do you floor it and get around every single person you can to get her to the hospital?
Why is it that we always assume the worst about people? Sure, some people are idiots that speed all the time, but I've driven on a lot of highways, and it is rare that anyone is travelling at or below the speed limit. People don't see driving 70 in a 65mph zone as being bad, but god forbid you are driving 75, then you're a maniac. And when you come up behind someone who is driving slowly, do you back off? I doubt it.
Next time you are in this situation, just let them go by and hope for them that they are ok instead of wishing them ill as they pass by you.

Do not exceed the speed limit. Do not feel intimidated. You are in the right. They are wrong. Ignore them. Don't start dabbing your brakes, it will only get them going. They are morons and will soon be gone.

Slow down and ignore them when and if they drop back I resume my previous speed I refuse to be intimidated by ill mannered prats tailgating me.

If I'm not crawling along like some people do - I touch my brakes. If that doesn't make them pull back, I flick on my hazzard lights.

Brace yourself and stick the car to the road. Then bloody sue the socks off the driver of the car that rear ends you.
