I'm shocked how rude to you some people are in their answers. The term "incest" appies only to forbidden relations, and there are very few places in the world where marrying the 2nd cousin is a forbidden relationship. In fact, in many countries, historically, it was a favoured relationship - it kept the land in the family. And some contributors are talking out of the backs of their hats about in-breeding; kheserth has that one correct.
You'd have to check what the law is in the jurisdiction where you live. But you might like to take note of the level of hysterical and poorly-founded opposition to the idea - probably mainly from Americans, I suspect, by the way they write. If you do marry your second cousin, don't go and live near any of these people!

Marrying a second cousin is legal because the blood line isn't close enough to cause problems with having children.

I think its legal pretty much anywhere.
Don't get stressed over 'inbreeding'. It takes generations for inbreeding to cause a problem. I'm not suggest siblings run out and get married, just saying you shouldn't freak out about having kids if this happens to you (the 2nd cousin bit).

yeah i think so...you would have to check the laws in your state though. I think it would be weird to be married to a 2nd cousin though.

Legally and morally - yes. Same as any other marriage, most important question is - do you want to commit to the other person for life? If the answer is yes - go ahead. Be happy.

It depends on the state. In california you can marry your first cousin, but in most states I believe they have to be third or more.

I think it's legal, but eeeewwww, I would stay away from that. I think 2nd cousin's should be off limits for dating/marriage. It's just a little too close to incest.
