when I was a kid I used to babysit for fifty cents an hour (that was the normal rate back in the early seventies). This family I always sat for always paid me by check. So if I sat for three hours I got a check for $1.50. When I got home after babysitting my dad would take my check and put it away until the next Saturday morning when he would give me whatever checks I had collected for the week and tell me to walk down to the bank and deposit at least half the total of their combined amount. So sometimes it would be just a couple of dollars. But it added up and I felt important. It also taught the importance of saving.

I've done it many times before. I use to live with 11 other roommates, and I was in charge of the cable bill. It worked out to be like 9 something a person a month. And no one ever paid me on time or when I needed it, so whenever I got their money I deposited it the bank....even it was only 9$.

I get paid to do surveys. I make $4 and $5 deposits all the time. Not weird to put your money in the bank.

I made a deposit of $70 to the bank last week. Somebody owed me money and they paid. Rather than have the cash in my pocket (burning a hole), I deposited it in the bank so that I wouldn't spend it.
I don't think it is wierd and the bank will take your money (no matter the amount you deposit) so go for it.

Nothing weird at all about that, maybe the smallest I've deposited was five dallors, its my money, my account, besides I'am not one of these high over paid people and every cents counts to me and the way prices are headed before long I won't be able to afford a bank account..

Not at all. I've made a deposit of less than 5 bucks before. My wife and I have a joint checking account. I dropped by the bank to cash a personal check that one of her friends had written to her. Even though she had endorsed it on the back, they wouldn't cash it. So I just deposited it instead.

It isn't weird at all. Any money that you can save, no matter how small, is worth depositing into the bank.

Sure, all the time. We get checks for $10, $20, etc. from wherever, and just deposit them. It's no big deal, and the credit union handles it without a problem.
