2 months is plenty dating time. Be up front with her. You wouldn't want her to start thinking that you're some kind of weirdo. She is probably wondering when you would finally bring it up.

What is the "next level" to you? Do you mean, having sex? Or making the relationship exclusive? Or getting engaged? Every relationship is different, there is no timeline; you just proceed at a pace that feels right to you. Two-three months sounds like about the right amount of time to figure out if you two want to be exclusive; there's nothing wrong in asking at this point if you want to make sure that you are both feeling the same.

Tell her that "there" means a one-on-one relationship. She misunderstood what you were trying to say because it wasn't very clear. I would guess that if she has been dating you for 2 months that you both are on the same page and like each other quite a bit. I could tell within a date or two whether or not I wanted to pursue a relationship.
It'll be okay - just miscommunicating - common and easily fixed.

Depends on your age. Youngsters want things to happen fast and they don't want rejection. They go in and out of "relationships" kind of irresponsibly.
Mature adults have a clearer idea of what they are looking for and they don't want to be pushed into something fast. It takes time to understand a person's character and colors, particularly about responsibility and ability to have a stable job and so forth. These all take time and irresponsible people want to avoid.

"I've known you 60 days. We've been together for more than an hour about 7 times. I want to take this to the next level. Will you marry me?"
Yeah.
That sounds reasonable.
Not.

You know what hurts for a bit?
Rejection.
You know what wastes your entire life?
Sitting around avoiding confrontation because you're afraid of rejection.

You're through. If the girls is playing dumb like that, she is just using you for moral support. It's like you are her own personal cheerleader...or hype man.
