100%<----->$32
80%<-------> (80 / 100) x $32
= 4 / 5 x $32
= $128 / 5
= $25.60

I'll show you 2 ways to do this type of problem

1) The discount is 20% or 0.20

The discount
32.00 x 0.20 = 6.40

cost = original price - discount
Cost = 32.00 - 6.40
Cost = $25.60

2) The second way
You are paying 80% or 0.80 of the original price.

1.00 - 0.20 = 0.80

Therefore
Cost = 32.00 x 0.80
Cost = $25.60
.

$32.00 x 0.8 = $25.60

or

$32.00 / 100 = $0.32
$0.32 x 20 = $6.40
So $32.00 - $6.40 = $25.60

$32.00 * (.80) = $25.60
or $32.00 - (.20*32) = $32.00 - $6.40 = $25.60
