It depends on the situation. Lets say that you were driving and some guy walks out in the middle of the street without looking and you run him over. It was not your fault and if there was nothing you could have done to avoid it.
However, lets say that you were speeding and you could have prevented hitting the guy if you had been going slower. Your negligence unintentionally caused someone to be killed. In that case it is possible to get jail time.
If you are in a situation where you cannot avoid killing the person and you have not been reckless, negligent, or just plain breaking the law, then you probably won't go to jail. That is assuming you do not get one of the psycho DAs that want to send you to jail with hopes of making it look like they are tough on crime.

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Accidents happen of course and you won't go to jail for that. But, if you say are drunk driving and hit someone unintentionally and kill them, yes you will definitely go to jail for that.

If you run a stop sign unintentionally while a cop is around do you get a ticket? - HELL YES!!!... You'll still go to jail and court, but if you have a good lawyer and rule it an accident - who knows what happens then you might get out of it!

Depends on the situation. If you hit a construction worker on the side of the road you will lose your license, go to jail and get a 10,000 dollar fine.

depends on the situation actually. if your negligence caused a death then yes you will probably go. but if it was an accident then no you probably wont.
example you are speeding down the road and someone jumps in front of you and you hit and kill them your negligence was the cause and you would be in trouble.
your driving the speed limit and someone jumps in front of you and you hit and kill them it is an accident and you are not at fault.
your driving down the road at the speed limit but your license is expired or your insurance is expired someone jumps in front of you and you hit and kill him again it is your negligence and you are in trouble. since you are not allowed to drive without either you should not have been on the road and that would not have happened.

It depends on the circumstance. If any action or inaction by you leads to death (e.g. negligence, drinking and driving etc) you may be prosecuted, even though there is no intent to kill. Sometimes though accidents are accidents and nothing anyone could have done could have altered the outcome.

it depends on the circumstances. if your found negligent their is a chance that you may end up in prison. lets say your playing with a gun and it fires accidentally you kill the person across the street. you will be charge for the crime. circumstance would determine the legality of the action.

Well, I wouldn't want to test the system in Iraq.
So, what country are you talking about? Drunk drivers don't usually get drunk with the intention of killing people but our society condemns their lack of responsibility and is moving to stricter penalties.

Depends on circumstances. Involuntary manslaughter would be the charge.
