The reason I am asking this is that we used to have many nice contributors here and they disappeared.
I thought that if they died, nobody will care to post to inform the other people here in Yahoo Answers that this person is dead. So we'll never know, and perhaps we'll keep wondering for ever.

I have never thought about that, but you are right!

I would be something really sad! It would be a good idea if yahoo after sometime send them an email telling them "the community misses you, please come back" and if there is no response at all then, they should post a message telling that this person will not be available anymore. It would also be a good idea that yahoo create in our accounts "in case of emergency write to" so everyone could track someone when the person does not appear, so we can now if they are ok or not.

PD
By the way, you haven't complete my question. Thanks!

Well ,guys ...what about doubting this idea!!! Yea we can all e-mail Yahoo Answers & ask them to make a small section here for those who "will report in a manner or other" that, that person have died .And this section would enclude all this person's answers & questions ...all his /her history on Yahoo Answers. So we are a big family here ......& to be remembered all the time.
Notice that would need hundreds of e-mails ....so if you agree let me Know & spread this idea between your friends here on Y!A so we can make it soon:)
May God bless all of you.

wow i think about it a long time ago...it makes me feel depressed cuz even though we never met but we are somehow connected to each other, n we love to talk to each other, i come here on yahoo answers n the first thing i do is to check questions n answers in the egyptian section, n i search for some users here in specific, although we're not connected even by mail :) this is so sad n we have to think of something to do...

Yes, I HAVE thought of this. Especially if someone posts a question (or statement) "I am so depressed. What is the best way to kill myself?" or similar. You will never know if or how serious they actually are. On one such occasion, I kept going back to their profile and no new questions or answers were there.

That's true but it is part of the anonymity of the Internet that appeals. Not everyone is looking to be known here. It is the Great Equalizer. Rich, poor, black, white. We are all equal and unknown. (Well, until we start venting our own political views, that is.)

If you really want to know some of them, ask them to be contacts. Frankly, I think they probably just got bored because of some (not yours) of the questions. I found your question interesting.

True, and it sucks, but we're all going to die, which sucks even more.

Lets not think about it and just imagine them all on a beach together having a really fantastic time. It's much more pleasant to think that, and more constructive than wallowing in the gloom of our inevitable fates.

Good point.

And let's not forget those who have died and are still posting answers. Come on now, you all know of at least a few.

If one of my friends died I would hope someone would tell me. I mean a 360 friend, of course. But I get your point, that is something to think about.
