... I don't want to kill them, but I don't want them living under there. Also, how should I keep them from coming back?

Try placing rags soaked with some ammonia under the deck - the smell should drive them away without hurting them.

Also, a radio kept playing in the area for a while will hopefully make them think that there is someone there and they won't come back.

When they've gone, put some sort of mesh or chicken wire over the holes in the underside of the deck to make sure they can't get back under there. Make sure that they are fastened securely.

Contact a wildlife rescuer in your state. Look in the blue pages or online. Don't do it yourself. You could get seriously hurt...and you don't want rabies shots. If the animals injure you at all they will likely have to be euthanized and tested for rabies.

There is no way to get rid of them without killing them unless you want to get tranquilizers. You have to be qualified, so i suggest you get a pest control specialist. Once possums find somewhere they like, they make a nesting/den site, they dont leave unless they are forced. You should probably just kill them
