This may sounds ridiculous. But I think it will work. Put some honey, sugar. etc (anything that attracts ants) in a bottle and place the bottle near to the entrance of the ant's nest. Observe the bottle from time to time, once you see a trail formed (from their nest to the bottle), check if there's any ants in the bottle, if there's a lot in the bottle, straight remove the bottle to another place eg. garden. Do this twice or until the ants were gone.
This method is good because you don't have to kill anything and buy those expensive chemical. Besides, its mutual...the ants have another place to live and you are free from ants! Imagine that you may have to wash here and there after spraying those chemicals, what if those chemical accidentally sprayed on food!? So, give it a try! : )
and good luck....

Ants don't care for mint or citrus, cloves or bay leaves, so think orange peel, peppermint tea, lemon juice, ground cloves, etc. If you can plant mint around the foundations of your home, you may deter them from entering. Vinegar has the same acid as citrus, so use it to clean with and ants won't feel welcome. (It probably erases or overpowers the odor trail other ants have left for them to follow.)

Clean bench tops and cupboards down really well, and then wipe down with a clean damp cloth that has a few drops of essential peppermint oil on it, you may need to apply a few drops of oil a couple of times.

Ants hate the smell of it and it is also environmentally friendly, and safe for humans and children, and no residue powders etc to clean up. And the big bonus isthat the room smells fresh and minty. I also want to add that you can put the oil on a cotton ball after cleaning and put in the areas you have ants and that should help too...replace once the smell is gone.

I hope this was helpful,Good Luck!!! :)

they're pesky little cads aren't they??

1. find their food source (usually the reason they're trailing in) and eliminate it.
2. eliminate their trail. ants get confused when the little protein trail get's messed up (ever wonder why they all travel in the same line?) usually some bleach water in a spray bottle gets rid of this. just spray the trail. if you can't use bleach, try vinegar.
3. eliminate the ants. use a commercial ant killer, bleach, vinegar, hair spray, anything toxic will do.
4. seal up the space they were using to get in if you can. I always seem to get aunts through the windows. you might have weather stripping that isn't sealing or something.

I use a product called Max Force. The treatment depends on the type of ants. Here a great website:

I heard that if you use one of those bottle sprayers on your hose when you water plants, grass, etc, to fill the bottle with dish soap and bugs or ants will stay away from it. Keep in mind though, that is just what I HEARD.
