I am a huge Brewers fan(cause im from the 414, mil-town), but i am also a Red Sox fan and it amazes me that both of my favorite teams are at the top of their league right now. However i would have to say that Boston has an edge on Milwaukee. They have much more experience, especially in post-season play. they have a top closer with Pappelbon, and their pitching rotation is a beast. Jason Varitek is a huge contributor to the pitching success. They have some of the best hitters in the league with Big Papi and Manny.
The Brewers also have good hitting power and thier pitching and bullpen is tops in the league also. Turnbow and Cordero own the 8th and 9th. Prince Fielder is David Ortiz in the making. My point is that Boston looks like a championship team right now, and having the brew crew just getting to the playoffs would be a huge accomplishment.
I would love to say that the Brewers are a championship team right now, but it is too early in the season to say. The redsox have been in postseason contention b4 and know how to handle thier buisiness in the playoffs. The brewers are young and have less experience.
The Mets and Braves are also playing excellent baseball right now. That will be a battle for the division all season long.

I'm a huge Yankees fan, but I obviously can't say they are the best "right now". But if I had to say who is the best team "right now", I'd have to go with the Atlanta Braves. They are probably the most complete team with the least amount of holes. Second would be a tie with the Mets and Red Sox. The Mets have Starting Pitching problems and are struggling to score runs, and the Red Sox have a not-so-good Middle Relief. They also are struggling offensively since Manny is not yet hitting.

I agree on the Brewers, since the question is "right now". They have a history of second half meltdowns, but are much deeper this year than anytime in the last two decades. I don't see them slowing down anytime soon. Especially since having two of the best closers means they only really have to play seven innings if they are in the lead, and rarely give up hits much less runs. They have guys at triple a with major league talent that can be called up in the event of an injury.
I would also have to go with Boston for the American League.

The N.Y Mets are the best team in baseball. They have everything a great team needs. They have offense for days and a great pitching staff also. If the lineup doesnt strike fear in their opponents then their pitching will take care of em'. They will be in the World Series this year.
