If not, how good do you think it would do in a city of 3+ million?

If you type "pet funeral home" as an internet search, a number of sites come up, so apparently there are such places.

to know whether it would do well, you would need to research things like
- of the 3+ million people, how many own pets
- how many do those people spend on their pets each year
- how many other business offer this opportunity locally?
- how many vets are in the area?

There are many other questions like the above to consider, and most of the answers would be dependent on the specific city you mean, so it is research you are going to have to do yourself.

I live in the state of California, and pets are considered a part of the family, I am sure like many states. Pet Cemeteries are very common here.

I actually applied for a position at one several years ago, but opted not to take the position. Even though they charge quite a fortune for their services, for all that I was asked to do, the hourly pay rate was not enough to support me.

I found the facility to be quite fascinating, though. They have a viewing room, and a showroom for you to be able to choose a casket or "props" such as small, white benches for one to sit at the gravesite and grieve over your lost pet. They take the whole process quite seriously.
They take in small animals such as birds to large animals such as horses on occasion.

I think it's a great service to those who feel the need and can afford it.

Yeah its called the NUT HOUSE ;)

3 million +.... probably would do pretty well... sadly.
You should first get setup with pet cemetaries and then I would spend the major marketing at local vets setting up display at the front desk.
A lot of them should let you do it for free or next to free.

i don't think there is a pet funeral home but there are alot of people out there who would love to have a place to go to see there pets. if you were planning on making one of those you might make a huge profit off of it.
