My friends and I are doing a presentation on 1920's dancing. Does anyone have any creative ideas on how we could present it? (We don't want to dance) We are going to show movie clips, but we don't know what else to do.

How about some old, old dance records like "no body can shimmy like my sister kate" You probably can find some free mpgs on the net. Best of all would be to bring in an old windup record player and some lacquer disks. YOu'll definitely get an A.

I like the idea of bringing a senior citizen with you to talk about dance in the 1920's. I think that would be a terrific experience for all of you, including the senior! You'd be looking for someone in their 90's, and they would have been still a child then, but may remember their parents dancing, etc. You must think about the nature of your presentation, and ask your classmates to be quiet & respectful, because people in their 90's get tired and stressed out very quickly.

I think this could be a lot of fun for you, I hope you do it!

Dress up like you were in the 1920's Maybe give everyone a handout that shows them a 1920's dance that you could get off of the internet or put together yourself. Make a poster of the various types of dances there were.

What about seeing if you can interview some people who were alive then? Try retirement communities (call before going) to see if anyone there remembers the 1920s and can talk to you. I think your classmates would find that interesting! :)

Also, what about contacting someone who collects old clothes and asking her/him to bring some 1920s outfits for your presentation?

Good luck! :)
