Can you help me trigger a JavaScript event with a SELECT menu?

Question

Please take a look at this simple HTML page that uses a JavaScript function to swap CSS classes.

There are zero advertisements on the page. It's very simple code.

You can see that the JavaScript is triggered by the ONCLICK event.

I would like for this to be triggered using a SELECT menu.

I appreicate all help!

I would like this to work in all modern browsers.

I am set up to accept email from Yahoo! Answers users. It is probably a good idea to also email your code to me, since the "Answers" interface sometimes truncates code.

Use your select object's onchange event:


Then put names of the colors or the RGB hex codes into the options:

soylent green...

I had luck with form action='post' onclick='routine(.
where routine does a reset, the desired action, and returns true;

The routine will have to do some tedious searching through document elements to find the one whose css characteristics need to be changed, of course... If you can give the element an "id=..." it will make the searching a bit less tedious!

i wont write the code for you, but I will tell you the easiest way is to do what you want is boolean variables.

example:

if blueSelect=True Then
text.color = blue
Else if ....

you get the idea.
