If you work in a BBQ eatery I would like to know if your patrons are more male or female. I have several choices as to where I can open a BBQ restraunt at. One is surrounded by hair and nail salons with botiques. The other has auto parts, sporting goods and a barber shop. So, which location would do better?
In you answer please tell me what part of the USA you are in. Thanks to you all.

Hi Tom. I live in central Florida. As far as lunch's go, I would focus on the men. BBQ is a man's thing at that time of day. Where as for us woman we tend to do lighter lunch's, such as a salad bars. And if your BBQ is good, they might have a tendency to bring some home for the wife and kids to try. So it would be a win win situation. Or cater to both. Add a salad bar to you establishment. If there was a BBQ place in our town w/ a salad bar, I'd be there often. Offer good Take-out packages to. Woman are tired after work and if they can grab a quick GOOD take out you would be a hit on the block.

Well, in my opinion I would say men eat more BBQ and red meat, I would open the shop in the sporting good area, but also add items to your menu like pulled pork salad and BBQ wraps that would be more appeasing to the women in the crowd. Women also tend to like different meats, such as BBQ'd fish and Chicken. Good luck with your business.

im texan so im alwayse up for bbq but i think bbq is moore a man thing than a woman thing. bbq is alwayse great with a good cold beer so where ever you are make sure that you are able to sell liqor.
when it comes to picnics i never see a woman operating the grill or anything like that.

I would have to say men, they tend to let go a little more then women do when it comes to food. What you could do is conduct a survey in each area you are thinking about opening up shop.

in michigan men eat more bbq. i think the place near the auto parts would do better.
