people seem to look down on mine. my parents had me (a girl) and 6 boys (2 didn't make it), were foster parents to 10 boys (8 of which they adopted), plus my 2 cousins (also boys) live with us. My mom passed away when my little brother did. so now, it's me, my dad, and 15 brothers. (and my neighbor, a 14 yo girl who's parents don't care about her, so she practically lives with us. we adopted each other as sisters, unofficially, since she's an only child and i only have brothers)what do you think about big families?
Would you think differently if my parents had all 16 of us, not adopting at all?
why do people look down on us? right now, the last thing my dad needs is poeple telling him that he's irresponsible and should take half of us "back to the shelter".
why can't others just mind their own buisness?

I applaud your parents. I come from a family of 10 including me and not including my parents. everyone will have their opinions and think what they want.

I think I would be lost without my siblings. they helped shape who i am today. sometimes family is all you will ever have when it omes right down to it!

Big families are great...to hell with what others think or say. Don't let it bother you.
I came from a very small family, just me and my brother. I have to say it was lonely.
Now I have a semi-big family. Me and my hubby have 4 kids..people say that we're crazy for having so many (we should have stopped at 2). We also have at least 3 or 4 of my kids friends here every weekend too.
Yes I have to drive a truck and van, yes my food bill is astronomical but we're happy and that's what matters!

What people forget is some parents have the talent, the love, the resources & the ability to love lots of kids. The world is a better place because of your Dad; never forget that

People are probably assuming your family is on public assistance & sucking the government dry & raising their taxes. You guys just need to come up with some matter-of-fact answers for mean nosey people who ask or say rude things to your Dad.

I don't think people really look down at big families, I come from a big family, there is 11 of us kids. I think it is great to have that many siblings, I wouldn't want it any other way. Who cares want others think it only matters how you feel about it!!

I think big families are great, i wish i was a part of one. I only have one brother, things get pretty boring at family events since he's divorced and i'm widowed....it's LAME. I have friends that have HUGE families too and there's just always something fun going on.

Large families are wonderful! You are never alone, you always have a support system, you always have a friend to talk to and you will always be loved.

Be PROUD of your large family! It take pretty incredible people to make a family work with so many individual personalities.
