I've decided to get my nose pierced and was wondering if it is just your own preference of what side of your nose you pierce or is it traditionally a certain side? This may be a dumb question, but I know there's certain "rules" regarding men and piercing a certain earlobe.

It IS a matter of preference, however commonly, your nose is pierced on your right side. I just had mine done, and it looks brilliant! A couple of pieces of important advice, however: make sure it is pierced with a NEEDLE, not a gun, and ask that before the hoop/stud goes in to take a few minutes to rest, otherwise it'll hurt a lot when they try to yank out the straw left behind by the needle.

GuRL, do whatever YOU feel. Remember it is YOUR face and whenever you wake up in the morning, whatever you do you will ALWAYS see YOUR FACE everyday. If my husband had the nerve to pierce BOTH his nostrils, I would only do it. If I EVER pierce my nostril, I will only pierce one because it is my personal opinion that it is cuter. One piercing is more attractive to most people. Can you really live waking up everyday with two nostril piercings? Do whatever you think is beautiful and satisfying when you look at yourself in the mirror on a regular basis. This is, after all a question of aesthetic, "beauty" preference/taste, or traditions. It also depends on whether you think it will look suitably attractive on your face. Was piercing a tradition after Mugals came to India?

As far as I know there is no "rule". When choosing a side its more of the individuals preference, it depends on what they think looks better...

I did mine on the left but only cos I wear 2 earrings on my right ear! for balance! :) but since i'm right handed I also found it easier to change nose studs than i suppose it would be on the right, for some reason!

Nope, it is whatever you choose. I have mine pierced, too. I know some people with it on there left and some people with it on their right. It's just your preference. I did my right. =]
