LOL. I think we should march 12 million Americans into the border towns of Mexico and start demanding all kinds of public services, voting rights and citizenship.

Not sure that "rights" means the same in American everyday society as it does anywhere else in the world. Probably because the USA is such a blend of cultures and mix of nationalities the only way to resolve differences and establish a common base was the constitutional rights system.
Quoting Wikepedia:
"In modern English and European systems of jurisprudence and law, a right is the legal or moral entitlement to do or refrain from doing something or to obtain or refrain from obtaining an action, thing or recognition in civil society. Compare with duty, referring to behaviour that is expected or required of the citizen, and with privilege, referring to something that can be conferred and revoked.
The specific enumeration of rights accorded to citizens has historically differed greatly from one century to the next, and from one regime to the next, but nowadays is normally addressed by the constitutions of the respective nations. Generally speaking (within the English and European systems) a right corresponds with a complementary obligation that others have on the same object or realm; for instance if someone has a right on a thing, simultaneously another party or parties have an obligation to do something (or to abstain from doing something) in order to respect that right or to give concrete execution to that right"

Everyone has the inalienable right to make a total *** of themselves - you included. Whether said country would actually listen to you (as is prooven in the good ol' US of A with Pres. Bush not even listening to his own advisers, never mind what visitors say!) is a totally different matter all together! Good luck - please try and send us an e-mail from the stinking hole they call prison in far off Kazakhstan, or Zimbabwe . . .

I do not know but I got a city survey to fill about about parks & one was in English & one was in Spanish. What a waste of money. LEARN ENGLISH or do not participate in the survey.
We do not have that many Hispanics & where was the Japanese surveys we live near the Research Triangle & I would bet we had as many Japanese. They are just not demanding. Illegals need to go home.
By the way - we do not have much manufacturing in my area.

Excellent point. We are one of the very few nations left with freedom of speech so far reaching that people can petition the government. Too bad they use that freedom to denigrate the US. As for foreigners who come here to make demands on our government for their personal benefit, they should just be glad to be in the US.

Sure.
What do you suppose would happen if I did?
Depends on the country. If you go to Cuba, you'll be parraded around for a bit as a defector. If you go to Mexico you'll be promptly deported. If you go to Singapore, you'll be caned. If you go to Iraq, you'll be beheaded. If you go to Canada, you'll be cold. Etc...
