The two party system is broken, I will not defend Bush or the democrats that are just as much at fault as he is with their complicity, (as seen in their voting records) so this is often reflected in my answers. But I find myself having to defend myself daily from the report button. Am I entitled to my opinion? Read all my answers if you wish, I simply state my position without being rude to the asker or other participates specifically

People report when they feel threatened.
People get angry when you do not agree with them.
It also depend on what time of day or night you post, or when you answer. Daytime conservative answerers are usually older set in their ways, and looking for a fight, or looking for answers they feel need to be 'reported'. Evening answerers watch tv a lot.
I am the exception. I feel everyone has a right to their own opinion....even if I do not like it. I do not report people for their opinions. If I do not like an answer I simply give it a thumbs down. If I do not like a question, I do not respond.
And the above answerer is correct. Great questions elicit few answers because few know the answer.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but just try telling that to some of the report-happy people here.

There's no room in here for you open-minded extremists. Why can't you just conform to one side or the other? Can't you see that one of the sides must be right on all issues?

I do not agree, but you have the right to your opinions.

If you are being unfairly reported, challenge each violation and make a lot of noise in the forum.

HEAR HEAR! I have this same problem, and when you ask really great questions, no one answers them, and when you give really great answers that are non partisan, you get all thumbs down! Keep fighting the good fight, and SCREW EM! There is a reason we don't belong to either side...and it is always those of us independents who end up deciding elections...they are AFRAID OF OUR POWER!
