Virtual memory is not real memory (that's why it is called 'virtual'). What is happening is that you are running out of RAM (memory chips) and so the computer is using a file on your hard drive as an overflow. This is your virtual memory.

You can increase the size of the virtual memory alloted though the System Properties, but you may want to consider adding more RAM. Hard drives are pretty fast these days, but they are several orders of magnitude slower than RAM chips. Having you computer have all it's memory in RAM rather than having to overflow to the hard drive will speed up your computer significantly.
