Cannot say about any profession, but the profession that keeps the two apart the most would make it hard for the two together. The longer the time being apart from each other could make things hard and easy for some to play part in affairs. Then to play a part in affairs may not be in any profession. It's the feeling between the two that keeps the two together as one. Really the individual themselves, if they are honest and true to one another or not.

Personally I believe that all cheating has to do with the individual. If you are a faithful person at heart then you could work in a strip club 24-7 and never cheat on your spouse. Most cheating does happen in the work place. I believe that is because when people work together so much they have alot of time to bond...for instance when the husband is having problems with his wife and vice versa they have someone (at work) that they complain about their spouse to and that seems to understand what they are going through. That is mostly how cheating starts...with conversation and that emotional connection. BUT like I said, it is always the individual and their standard or intergity that determines whether they will cheat or not.

I'm married to a truck driver and I find that the amount of divorced OTR drivers is quite high, cheating is a lot of the problem but so is being a truckers widow. You get lonely. I mean, when he is on the road it might be 1 to 3 weeks away from home, so you have more alone time than together time and yes it depends on the individual and the connection between the spouses.

For the most part it is the individual. However, I do believe that there are profession that tend to lend themselves to "Dipping in a love pot" that doesn't belong to you. I think that being in the military may lead to this (No offense the military personnel but I know how I would feel being away from my significant other for extended periods of time.) I also believe that people that are in the upper 5% of earnings in the world tend to philander because they are rich and they can do whatever they want.

A study was done recently that somewhat indicates what you are saying. People that travel frequently are more likely to cheat than those that don't. I expect that this has a lot to do with opportunity. They are staying in a hotel outside away from their spouse, and therefore can more easily cheat without getting caught. Another stat was that these people that travel, are cheating with co-workers as a high percentage.
It's not about profession so much is it's about opportunity
So, who travels.....
Sales People, Consultants....etc

Cops, firefighters, and luau dancers.
Almost every cop I know has had an affair once they were past their rookie year. I should know, I'm the product of one. I don't know what it is about them but women are magnetically drawn to them. I dated a cop for a short while and found out that he was trying to hook up with my friend at the same time. Even after I got engaged, he tried to pick me up, what a loser!!
Firefighters have a good opportunity to mess around because they are gone overnight. And again, women are drawn to them...must be the uniform. Some of them are know to say that "firefighters find them hot and leave them wet". PIGS
Luau dancers in Hawaii. They cheat with eachother all the time. My husband caught his ex with a co-worker in their supervisor's quarters.

that's a known trait. In some usa that's appeared upon as a capital crime and those chanced on accountable of that's killed. In some, that's not such a great deal and in some, that's predicted of husbands and not of greater halves, on a similar time as in an extremely few cultures, that's prevalent that better halves too prefer to get somewhat on the ingredient now and then.

Yes, I do. All of the above that you mentioned definitely stack the deck more towards cheating and two more contributing factors I think that you didn't mention is how people were raised as in what kind of role models they had and if they have any kind of mental illness like depression or something.

I'd say business travelers and military people. Those people are never home. With the Iraq war going on, the military has never had a higher divorce rate than it does right now. I know this cuz my husband is military and we get info on those statistics, plus he screwed around on me.

I think a cheater is a cheater, no matter what job he/she has. I will admit that some jobs make it easier, for example, my husband screwed around, and he's a courier. He drives around the city all day delivering blueprints for an engineering firm. No one knows exactly how long his deliveries take, or what certain order he will do them in, so it was PERFECT for him to get away with it unchecked. (or so he thought)
Anyway, back to the point. If someone's going to cheat, they will do it no matter what their job is, because they'll MAKE time for it. :)
