Im trying to start a new oil business but I dont know where to start looking for oil. I was thinking I would either go to Alaska and cut down a bunch of trees and dig there but then the environment would suffer. Or I was thinking of taking the business overseas and using Arabs to supply the cheap labor. What do you think? Or theres always the Gulf of Mexico

Try digging underneath the nearest McDonalds restaurant. I hear they let their fryer and burger patty grease drain into a gigantic underground lair located under every franchise for the McDonald's corporations to use as oil wells after there's no more fossil fuels or hamburgers because global warming causes all the cows to become extinct.

Depends upon your geologic model.

Oil as an industry is well established and highly competitive. What makes you think you have the resources to compete with the likes of Exxon-Mobile and all the other oil giants. Then there's the OPEC interests.

If I were you, I'd invest the amount you have into Butenol or one of the other alternative fuels that threaten to compete with expensive petroleum based gasoline.

Gulf's the best bet - but why become actively involved and take on all that risk - just buy deep water contract drillers like Transocean (NYSE: RIG).

I have an extremely strong suspicion that there is oil beneath my back garden.

I suggest you come round with your shovel and dig it over
