Given all the times this question will probably be asked between now and then, it will be hard to remember this particular instance.
I wanted to point out that, although a poll, that doesn't mean it will accurately reflect the American voting population.
If you want to know which party, right now, would get the most votes, you could check with professional pollsters, who use random sampling to get more accurate results. (They also use demographic data to weight the results, when their sample doesn't reflect the population adequately.)
With no other information than party, I say Democrat.
(However, that doesn't mean I'll vote for the Democrat -- I may vote third party, if I'm not wild about the dem, and it's clear my state will be blue, which it usually is.)
Edit: I forgot the "why" part. Because Democrats sell the people a little less far down the river than the Republicans.

Maybe a subtopic of this that would present the same result is, since Bush's 2nd term started he had majority administration & congress & house republican. Have you enjoyed our administration more during that term & been proud of what they have done your elected cousel or when Clinton had his majority control of Democrats? personally, that is no contest, I want a Democrat to see if we can save face in the world view much less, the history books. Not to mention I dont like paying $3+ per gallon. Someday...prolly when its too late, we will start electing leaders that care more important about the issues that matter, health care, education, our environment....more then the lobbyist & money.

I'm 99.9% sure I will vote Republican. The only chance of this changing is if a Democrat or Independent comes forward that is 100% pro-life, 100% pro-Israel, and 100% against same-sex marriage. These are the 3 most important issues to me. Right now, I have my eye on former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee for the win. Have a great day!

After reading questions on here from both Democrats and Republicans then neither.
If these are the only 2 sets of people who will take power of the USA then the world is finished. Both are as bad as each other, Both are disgraceful to the USA and Both are doing it for one thing - MONEY.
Heres hoping that the USA gets a real 3rd party soon because these 2 parties are completely void of any intelligence.

Libertarian. Either Ron Paul currently a Republican or Steve Kubby.
Because both major parties will not live within the Constitution!

Republican.
Everyone needs to wake up. Go pull out an eighth-grade history book and refresh your memory on the presidencies of Democrats we've elected in the past. Do you really want to see that again? Why? Just because you hate the war? Pitiful.

90% Libertarian. I'm sick of the duopoly. Sure, there are some people I'd tolerate (Obama, Giuliani, Paul, Tancredo, Richardson) but as a choice for a party, I choose the Libertarians.

At this time I am leaning toward Goofy, Micky is okay and Pluto is insignificant that Goofy looks pretty good right now. Minnie may work out eventually and Donald is just to hot under the collar all the time.
It is TOO early to tell.

I would say right now I'm undecided but as a registered Democrat I'm not sure who I would rather vote for. Right now I think I like Edwards over Obama but I don't know enough about Obama. As for Republicans, I would not vote for Rudy.

So far, Republican. The Dems have gotten full of political BS. Hillary and Edwards are completely corrupted. Obama isnt as bad, but he doesnt have the strength to do what is right, he is being used by the party and therefore he's worthless. We need someone who can take a stand, and I think Romney is willing to do that. There are a couple of others too.
