We should NEVER take all of our troops out. Even Japan is still under surveilance by our bases we have stationed there.

Yes the war may not have been the best decision but to pull them all out now would be a complete waste.

He's only in office a little while longer. Lets just keep Clinton out for the next election

Obviously, the War in Iraq, like the broader ill-defined War on Terror, has gone badly and is no where near being won. It's also certainly true that the war was entered on the basis of information that looked questionable (and turned out to be false), and was pushed heavily by the Administration, not to mention that Sadam's constant posturing made him look like more of a threat than he was, as well.

But that doesn't change the fact that the war is ongoing, and that there are factions fighting the US, and fighting eachother for control of the country. Some of those factions, like Al Qaeda in Iraq, are prettymuch just there to fight America - not because they can kill a whole lot more American soldiers than they could civilians if they launched more domestic attacks, but because facing America in Iraq gives them a chance at something even more politically valuable than 9/11: a /military/ victory over the United States. Others, are fighting for control of Iraq - fighting eachother, and the US - most notably the Sunnis and Shiites. Victory for either would be bad for the other (ethnic cleansing, anyone), and for US interestes in the region. A Sunni victory would mark the return of Ba'athist style oppression. A Shiite victory would create a regime sympathetic to (or even an outright puppet of) Iran. In addition, a complete withdrawl would endanger the other Iraqi minorities, including the Kurds, whom the US has abandonned once already, after Gulf War I.

So, staying in accomplishes nothing but more US casualties, more federal debt and endless chaos in Iraq, while pulling out means handing Al Qeada a symbolic military victory over the US, plunging Iraq into civil war that would ultimately end in the death or displacement of millions, another hostile power in the region, and, as a sort of bonus, further build on the US's reputation as a feckless ally and paper tiger.

I'm with you.
I thought it was the wrong decision to go to war in Iraq, namely because the burden would rest almost entirely on America's shoulders.
Until America could convince the U.N. on the severity of the situation, it was better to keep on hunting for Osama in the mountains of Afghanistan.

But now that the troops are in Iraq, the main thing is get the Iraqi parliament to take control of their own country.
There should be a deadline for this.
Not for the withdrawal of the troops but for the Iraqi government to be up and running.
No more delays and vacations.

The troops should start to withdraw and be replaced by U.N. troops.
The U.N must be convinced that a totally unguarded Baghdad is not in anyone's interest except for the terrorists.
The U.N. will agree.
I am not surprised that Bush and the administration have not approached the U.N. because they want the oil.
They do not mean to share it with anyone.

Bill Clinton was right when he cut the defense spending to the bone! They receive a hundred times what they need anyway! No funding no more military actions being initiated! It's that simple! Cut all funding for defense department budgets for the next 20 years and watch their insanity dry up and blow away with the wind! If george had any shred of intelligence he would grasp this opportunity to withdraw and then blame the opposition for pushing it so hard. Surely he knows it can't go on forever and it has to end, so the sooner the better for all!

Bush and Blair put the world in a missrable situation by starting a war with out real reason.
However, if they will pay for it remain to be seen but for sure there is no option than solving the Iraq question and implementing a system that suit the country.
This to happen will require all people who been involve in the pre-war agreement with Bush (Iraq citisence in excile in USA and UK) to return back and iRAN TO STOP THEIR INVOLVMENT. Then Iraq could go back to a natural leader acceptable by its regional countries and live in harmony. This is 10 years down the road.

We are in Iraq to stop al qaeda, it is a war on those terrorists who killed 3,000 people in NYC. Do you want to stop that? Is it okay with you that they go unpunished only to come here and do it again and again.

Are you even from the USA? If not your point is nice and it is your opinion but why do you want to sway AMericans opinion? What is the objective?

If we leave Iraq with the business unfinished there is a good chance that al qaeda will take control of that country. Once that is accomplished they will develop or obtain nuclear devices and they will use them perhaps in your country and almost certainly in the USA.

Since you did not vote for bush what is the objective of your rant?

Frankly I don't care. You dumb a**, evil Americans love war. In fact you are willing to pay high prices to falsify intelligence to go to war.

You started the mess in Iraq for no f*cking reason. and I hope you pay the price for provoking anger towards a nation that never posed a threat to you.

The war was a lie to begin with, so to try and strategize a way out of it without exposing the truth and dealing with the reality of what our government has done is impossible.

The truth must be laid bare and then we can find the best way to move forward.

well I'm against the war. But I'm worried it's too late to back down. Their pissed, and the minute troops leave Iraq, their coming after us. I don't want it to be a war zone in America. So I don't know what we should do, but I don't think we can leave just yet.

listen bush had nothing to do with it, as much as i hate him it's really not him. presidents have no control, everything they say is already written for them. the government is so messed up noone realize it because theyer busy on hating eachother and thats exactly what the government wants us to do, not to pay attention to them while they play us like little puppets. dont you agree? e-mail me it's a good topic to talk about. medinagotit@yahoo.com
