You're thinking of Matt White, who currently plays for the Dodgers' AAA team, the Las Vegas 51s. And he did not get $80 billion - he hasn't sold the property yet, the value of the rocks is estimated at about $2.5 billion, and that is before one accounts for extraction costs. He'll make good money from the stone, but he won't become a billionaire.

Matt White for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The funny thing is - when they found the rock base on his Massachusett property that he purchased from his aunt for $50,000, he was still trying to make the team.

In reality, he could have brought the team and made himself the starting pitcher.

The only difference I see it that the amount was in the billions, thus earning him the nickname at the Dodger camp as Mr Billionaire - however I do believe that it was something under 10 billion - not 80 billion.
