First of all there is no such thing as a "Yamaha Carb" Yamaha doesn't make carburetors. All 4 stroke Carburetors are made by Keihin.
One of 2 problems, the pilot jet may be clogged. To check take the carb off or loosen the clamps. Rotate the unit on it's side. There is a large, like, a half inch screw on the bottom of the float bowl, remove it.
Look inside and you will see 2 brass hex like screws, with a hole in the middle. These are the main and the pilot jets. Remove them one at a time (so you dont get 'em mixed up). Look in the hole and see if it's clogged if it is that is your problem. Clean them by blowing air through them. Reassemble the entire unit.
The other thing is the fuel screw. If if is all the way closed the bike won't idle. Screw it all the way in carefully and count the number of turns exactly.
It should be 1 1/2 upto 2 1/2 turns OUT. The fuel screw is on the bottom of the carb it is hidden inside of a recess and not easy to get to. You might need to get a special screw driver or replace it with an after market unit which is easier to adjust.
[;-)
I hope that helps you

Check for fouling on your spark plugs. It's often caused from running your quad too long with the choke on. Also check the fuel overflow tube for fuel being dumped. Yamaha carbs are prone to bent float pins, causing the float to stay open flooding the carb with fuel; too much for an idle, but pleanty for wide open throttle. Check it out, I had similar probs, and that's what it was.

Remove the "Hot Start" choke and make sure the plunger moves freely.
Check to make sure the compression release isn't activated.
Lastly - When was the last time the valves were adjusted? It might be time.
