its a hunter digitat thermostat that i got at wal-mart for like 20 bucks

first make sure the thermostat doesnt have a rh rc connections on the back of it ...if it does jump them together ...if dont put the red yellow and green wire together and see if unit works...if idoes bad thermostat....if it dont bad transformer

Either you wired the A/C wrong or there is a jumper that hooks together the heat and A/C to use the same transformer. That jumper needs to be in or out as per the instructions considering whether the two systems share a transformer.

Check the wire connections or simply call the TECH support hotline for the Mfg of the T stat.

if the heat works, then their might be jumper wire missing the ternimal location is usually rc and rh
