They told us last summer when it went up that it was because Republicans were in charge and President Bush was getting rich off of all that Iraqi oil. So now the ball is in your court. I'll be watching the pumps for the decline in price, or were you just being Democrats.

I wish many of you people would read the question before you answer. The point I am making is that the Democrats blamed Bush for the high gas prices last summer, but now it's caused by supply and demand. Seems rather convenient doesn't it that the reason changed once the Democrats got control of Congress?

Because the Democrats realized they have to pay for their socialist programs and now they want the taxes they would get from all of us when we purchase gas. Here in Florida it's .43 cents per gallon going to the government!

conflict in/with the middle east(and other oil rich nations) drives speculative trading decisions.
when more conflicts break out, brokers see it as a potential reduction in supply that will drive the price up and make them money if they are holding.
so...many more of them buy oil in hopes to make an easy profit on future higher prices, which drives the market value higher and the prices up.
after that happens the refineries buy the oil that is increasing in price, not enough to really drive gasoline up as high as it is, but refining capcity effects price of gasoline more than the price of oil. since there is no economical benefit for refiners for increasing refining capacity and driving gas prices and profits down as a result, the refiners leave refining capacity at the same level and blame environmental liberals for the shortage.
if you want that in a much easier to understand, and much easier phrase to spin, a long story short, you can say...Supply and Demand.
isn't that the phrase Bush supporters like?
well that is how that "supply and demand" works.

Congress doesn't set gas prices the Oil Companies do. Has to do with mostly with supply and demand and also that the supply is controled by 5 huge corporations and OPEC to some extent.

Who told you that, your next door neighbor? I wouldn't trust him he doesn't even have a roof on his trailer, its just a tarp.
Put things together here ok. Texas oil man in the office. Big Oil companies are based in Texas. Texas oil man goes in office and within months price of gas rockets up almost .40 a gallon. He of course does not have control directly, don't listen to your neighbor when he whistles that through his two teeth, but his control in foreign markets and relations does. Hi largest profit margins by a company in US history ever, and they broke their record again this year. That is EVER not just over the past few years. Wake up smell the roses.

The gasoline prices went down to give the Repubs an advantage/sway voters to vote Repubs in the election.
Now that they lost why keep it low? It pretty much sums up that they, Exxon &co, are gouging the prices and they know they can because their puppet and cronies, bush & gonzalez, hold the highest offices to prevent any indictments.
The price will stay up as long as bush is in office.

This question is ridiculous when the gasoline is going up because of the Iraq war and supply and demand. I'm a Republican and know this.

Please tell me that you don't believe everything you hear. The gas is going up now with the dems in office for the same reason it went up when the GOP were the majority.
