It feels like it's being steered from the rear, it just wanders around on it's own. I had a blow out the other day, and the wobbles seamed worse since. Could an engine mount cause this, or is it a wish bone bush. Or is it a ball joint, to be honest i hav'nt got a clue. Please help.

Hi

It could be absolutely anything!

Bounce the corners of the jeep and see if any of the shocks feel too soft or bounce more than once. Down, up, settle is normal.

Failing that, jack up each corner in turn and grab the wheels and try to wobble them top to bottom and left to right. There should be no play in the wheels whatsoever. You will need to put the jeep in gear, chock the front wheels, and let the handbrake off to check the rear wheels.

Mail me what you find.

Cheers

i had this on mine,it was the callipers not releasing and the truck would pull all over the place, when you stop after driving a while put your hand close to the front wheels see if you can feel any heat,or smell them if so replace both front callipers, they are around 60 quid a side, also make sure 4 wheel drive is not stuck in,,

With the hood open and your foot firmly on the brake see if you can get the engine to rise up in forward or reverse......broken motor mount will allow a rise up.

Definately a wishbone bush or bottom balljoint..

Depending on cost, it would be easier to replace the wishbone complete, rather than a balljoint..

If the car has a differential, then I believe that is your problem.
