the machine could create a black hole, in the next few months.

In the coming months the most complex scientific instrument ever built will be switched on. The Large Hadron Collider promises to recreate the conditions right after the Big Bang. By revisiting the beginning of time, scientists hope to unravel some of the deepest secrets of our Universe.

Within these first few moments the building blocks of the Universe were created. The search for these fundamental particles has occupied scientists for decades but there remains one particle that has stubbornly refused to appear in any experiment. The Higgs Boson is so crucial to our understanding of the Universe that it has been dubbed the God particle. It explains how fundamental particles acquire mass, or as one scientist plainly states: "It is what makes stuff stuff..."

All of our theories say that there must be a God Particle. Quantum Mechanics does not work without assuming there is one. Until the theory of Quantum Mechanics is changed or the Higgs Boson is found, we have to assume that it is real.

Any black holes that are created in this reactor will be microscopic and disappear within a few seconds because of Hawking Radiation, which is thermal discharges from them.

What nonsense! There is no way we are able to destroy the world with a particle accelerator. It is like in Star Trek, how the Enterprise is always saving the whole universe from destruction by a rip in space or whatever. How did the universe survive without help all those millions of years before we invented star ships if these rips in space need fixing every few years? There must have been thousands of them before star ships were invented!

So it is just fictional nonsense. And a total misunderstanding about black holes. Even if such a small black hole were made, it would be unable to destroy anything.

The use of particle colliders by physicists to create the energy necessary to give rise to different types of particles is nothing new. Despite the questionable nickname of the particle, it's nonsensical to imply that we'll be like God for knowing the properties of this particular particle. At the same time, the notion that the machine will destroy the world is inaccurate.

Yes I think that particle exists. I wouldn't call it the God particle though, and I wouldn't be surprised if they discovered a particle smaller than what they're hunting for now.
As to the experiment? I don't believe we are in any danger of blowing up the planet, or even a partial destruction. I would be very interested in learning of the results. I know we are pushing the envelope on this, but I seriously doubt the experiment will get out of control.

Oh boy, another doomsday rumor. The machine could theoretically create a black hole that would instantly evaporate. I wonder if this is how the Mayans got wiped out. The earth will be just fine.

Yes I think it exists and no I don't think its worth blowing up the planet to find out (at the moment).

However the large hadron collider will not blow up the planet and it may take a while to prove anything.

Personally I'm hoping they prove it does not exist as I think this possiblity has more interesting consequences.

Following the autumn of mankind God the author instituted a punishment that prevented human beings going to a place or planet mentioned as Heaven yet he did promise that sometime he might deliver a Saviour so as that mankind ought to get returned on course returned and discover a thank you to Heaven. devil became the instigator of sin and has eternal punishment waiting for him whilst christ returns for whilst he has had time to coach human beings faraway from God, many have come to understand Christ interior the direction of the scaling down technique that faith in God brings. (faith comes by using listening to and listening to by using the be attentive to God) many don't care to hearken to the message of salvation and rather are crammed with earthly cares. devil's time will come whilst he's destined to the lake of hearth, likewise all people who sought to serve him rather of Christ in this international will connect him in that lake of hearth, and not basically for a season yet constantly.

The LHC just gest protons to a speed close to that of light, and collides them at one point. The itea is to see protons are made of, when they hit each other and turn into smaller things. Yes, they will try to make a black hole, but it will disintergrate due to hawking radiation. hopefully.

there are two points of view to this question.

1 FOOLS! IF UR DEAD, YOU CANT APPRECIATE DISCOVERY!

2 the only future for mankind is discovery, and if we cant discover, we have no purpose.
