Do you rip open all the wrapping paper, or open it carefully?

I normally open them from the sides, taking the tape off - that way I don't shred something delicate/fragile inside that might have gotten attached to the paper and in the process gets torn the goodies...ripping a present open sometimes results with the present inside being jolted/thrown out abruptly if force is applied which might result in getting shattered or spilled

Depends on the wrapping paper, whats written on it etc. If its nothing important i rip, but if it has something written on it I want to keep, I go carefully.

I try to open them carefully - I am sure we usually end up throwing the paper away, though.

I open the ends first, then rip open the seam. So it's a cross between the two.

Rip it open! That adds to the excitement of the gift opening and makes the gift giver feel even better and flattered. Honestly, when people open it slowly, don't we all roll our eyes? The gift giver wants to see you open it quickly and be excited.

I can't stand people who say "Oh I love this wrapping paper, I have to keep it" and then they take about five minutes to make sure they find the tape and carefully peel it off.
NOT ME!!!!!!!!!

Most of the time RIPPP..but sometimes i like to be careful when the wrapping paper is nice..
