I don't know anyone on the inside and have never seen a game. Honestly, I'd simply like to watch a couple fo games - see a famous face or two.

I'm told I need to camp outised, or buy now or this or that....

What are/is the best ways to get good seats, for great games?

Its too late now, but if you send a stamped addressed envelope to The All England Croquet and Tennis Club at Wimbledon (see their website)in about Sept 07 and they will send you an application form which you fill in and send back. You are then entered in a raffle. These are for Centre, No.1 and No 2 Court...you then wait and if lucky they advise you of what tickets you can purchase and what date....you can also queue overnight and a limited number of Centre and No1 Court tickets are available on the day....It is possible to get just ground entry tickets and you can go on Henman Hill and watch on the main screen....the ground entry ticket also entitles you to watch matches on the outside courts, which is good in the first week. We have had tickets for the Show Courts nearly every year for 15 years including mens final tickets....Note there will be less seats on Centre Court for next couple of years as they are putting a roof on....

Step one: Obtain a very large 'Bank Loan'
Alternatively apply to work at one of the many catering venues within the'Wimbledon' complex: Once you are issued with your staff-entry and security pass, do not bother reporting for work, instead with your Security pass you should be able to get away with helping the elderly/infirm to their seats, then just lurk around pretending to be their carer:
Or as a last result step in front of a players car as they near the players entrance you are bound to get some freebie tickets for the shock & trauma you endured:!
However please only try the latter if you are convinced they have really quick reflexes:

you cannot buy wimbledon tickets beforehand, you have tpo queue up on the day you want to watch. however, because its so popular, to get decent seats you will have to get in the queue the night before. if you dont mid sitting really far back, you might just get tickets if you turn up on the morning, but its a risk.

The answers you`ve received I`m afraid are all 100%. The only other alternative is to buy one off the touts who flock outside. I would`nt recommend this, but if you do, be very careful.
