i own a shop, and their nor always open every day of the year, they do close on certain holidays, and they also do a lock up sometimes late at night so they can clean up,especially when there's no customers coming in,but you still have to have locks on any door especially a public building, good luck hope this helps.

When a building is put up, it is designed to fit any kind of business because most buildings are not owned by the the store but they pay rent. If the 24 hr business should have to move or go under the next business that comes in might not have the same hours. Plus you have to worry about natural disasters or refurbishing.

Just because it's advertised as open 24/365 doesn't mean they won't have emergencies that require the store to be closed. Think hurricane, tornado, extreme snow storm, etc.

Funny.
That's the old joke in the hospitality industry. When you build a new hotel, open the doors and throw the key away.

There comes a time when the clerk has to count money, so the doors are locked until he finishes counting.
