You have to call Sprint customer service. There is a lock code and a system identifier that must be entered in oder to program and activate any Sprint phone.

Most phones program like this:

enter the following..

##(Sprint supplied six-digit code)#
this opens a programming menu
select edit
under the term MDN, enter your phone number, hit enter.
under the term MSID, enter the ID number customer care supplies. hit enter.

Hit okay or save. It shuts off, reboots, and should work after a period of a few minutes to 2 hours.

NOTE: If the phone you are trying to activate is associated with an active account, with a closed account that owes Sprint money, or was listed with Sprint as "Lost/Stolen", then you will not be able to activate it.
