I agree with you. I love the idea of public art, but most of the time it's just someone's stupid a** tag. Those are the idiots that would probably spray paint their tag over a public mural or something. I think there are some true artists though. There's a building in the city where I live that allows graffiti artists to use one of their walls. A new artist is selected each month. It's a cool, temporary, always-changing work of art. Way better than a lame juvenile tag.

Sometimes when i see it on a passing train or abandoned factory i must admit some well done graffiti on it looks rather nice. But its just a shame that the person doing it obviously has talent yet is wasting it and causing destruction by defacing public property.
But in rare cases it can make a old abandoned building or old train car look better. Still yet, that does not justify doing it.

My first impression is disappointment. It's a shame people feel the need to destroy and deface other people's property by painting goofy nicknames all over. Most of the time the names are illegible or too cryptic to understand anyway. However, there are some painters who are very talented at murals. I really enjoy a spray painted mural if it is tasteful and was allowed by the property owner.

whilst sitting at a custom crossing I see it on the climate of boxcars, and that i ask your self approximately who did it, the place and why. a number of this is cryptic--i ask your self what it potential. a number of this is amazingly captivating. i think of that somebody obtainable has a large number of expertise that is going to waste. i think of this is too undesirable that our society now no longer nurtures its youthful contained in the aspects of creative pastimes. a number of those human beings would make perfect picture designers if that they had the prospect to bypass to college. I observed a documentary as quickly as that defined how graffiti is one technique via which gangs mark their territories and communicate with one yet another. lower back, right this is expertise wasted. If those young babies's energies would desire to be redirected, it would be a greater effective international. i comprehend you purely asked for first impressions, yet as you will discover, i've got spent extremely of time thinking approximately graffiti jointly as waiting on trains.

I must agree, it takes an ignorant person to deface something that someone else worked so hard to build or create.

And it makes me sad, because some "graffiti artists" are VERY talented. There are so many better things that they could use their talent for.

As my favorite and most controversial Mayor Oscar Goodman said recently, "They ought to have their thumbs lopped off!"

Oh, and if you find this way too cruel, how about we just sentence them to paint over graffiti for the rest of their lives...

My first impression is "well, well, well. Would you look at that? I just missed seeing a covey of worthless, no account, dead-beat, punk-a** heathens showing off what they're made of. I wonder where their parents are? Surely, they must be feeling a great deal of parental pride right about now."

That some one wanted to leave their mark on the world.

Just like male dogs like to mark where they have been.

I think that the dogs are the more intelligent.
