How a temporary video file can be renamed into avi or mpeg file?

I tried to rename a video file but the previous file name did not disappear. It shows along with the new name. What can I do?

1. my computer
2. your harddrive (inside it)

On the top bar
1. Tools
2. Folder Options
3. "View" Tab
4. look for "Hide extensions for known file types"
5. unclick that box.

now rename the file (remember to delete the old .whater first. and put the new .avi are whatever you what to do.)
