I am currently a junior in highschool and i am taking Private Pilot Ground School & will be getting my private pilot's lisence next year when I graduate. I've been interested in being a cop and was wondering of careers for cops that also fly planes? and also what courses should i be taking in highschool / college?

I dont know any other way to ask that question.

Criminal justice and forensics. Anything you have in the realm of science/forensics would be very helpful.

There are lots of jobs for people who fly that require a security clearance. While not necessary that these people be "cops"--as they work with sensitive material, it is necessary to have background checks.

FBI, CIA, NSA all have pilots that fly their special teams around. The military has classified document courriers that carry classified information. SWAT teams across the nation often have helicopters. You could also consider a career in DEA--which often involves flying over areas believed to be growing weed. Small police officers rarely have the need to fly, but most larger cities have several helicopters they use to track suspects.

You could also consider a career in a branch of the military. Many of those require flight training.

However helicopter training is far more useful than planes in most of those situations.

Do you have huge anger management issues?

Do you like donuts and coffee?

As long as the answers to the above questions is "yes", you have what it takes.
