A sonographer is an ultrasound tech. A radiologic technologist is an x-ray tech.

FYI: A radiologist is a doctor.

Radiologic Technologist is commonly called X-ray Technician. Diagnostic Medical Sonography technician uses sonic waves to detect and view patient inner condition. Pregnant women usually go to get sonogram to make sure the unborn baby is positioned correctly in her uterous and growing without any problem. Which is better is based on your preference. It would be helpful if you went to visit a nearest hospital, perhaps by your doctor's referral and ask to observe what these technicians do on a daily basis before you make your decision.
