Do any of you remember celebrating May Basket Day?

Hi, I remember as a child, my grandmother and I used to make special baskets with baked goodies in them and leave them on peoples doorsteps. We would knock on the door or ring the bell and leave without letting them know who left it. My grandmother called it a May Day Surprise. It this what you're talking about? I've asked other people about it in the past, but no one recalles doing this except me. But it kind of sounds like what you're asking about. We were born in the Applachian area, so maybe it's just an old custom. I'm not sure. But back then, the 1960's, other people alos did it to us. Hope that helps you.
