In 1969, where would they have done their first concert since 1966? If they were still together, they would still be recording at Abbey Road Studios and John Lennon wouldn't have been shot in New York in 1980.

While people talk about all of the arguing that the Beatles did during the various sessions, there were more contributing factors that caused the break up. My band and I have come to blows (literally) during recording sessions, yet we are still together and going strong.
If you look at the inside of the Beatles, it was a matter of time before their shelf life was up. Paul and John were headed in two separate song-writing directions. They had all admitted that towards the end, they were putting out solo albums that they had the other Beatles play on. Eric Clapton was doing guitar solos, Billy Preston was doing keys, John was doing bass lines.

As for the rumor that Yoko caused the break-up... were it not for that woman (as bizzarely as she acted at times), John would never have done the Abbey Roads ,or the Let It Be Sessions.

as for where they would have done thier first concert: They wouldn't have. They stopped doing live shows in 1968 due to the fact that the PA's were not powerful enough to allow the band to be heard over the screaming fans. There is a famous video of John playing the keyboards with his elbows to show that he could play anything and no one would ever know the difference.

It would be interesting to see if the Beatles could have taken the music any further, or if they would have gone back to the simple and basic... I guess we'll have to satisfy ourselves with questions like this.

You know from watching Let It Be and Anthology, it really was just a matter of time-the camera's showed the that the infighting and ego's were way out of hand.We also know for that for quite a while it was just the guys in the studio then enter Yoko,it was just more fuel to the fire.
For their first concert, in the U.K my guess is somewhere big,Wembley stadium(if it was around at that time). For the U.S., Woodstock would have been cool.

Their momentum to make music together had died by 1969. They were all going in another direction with what they wanted. People change and you cant do much about it and it was time for them to part ways. I actually enjoyed alot of what the guys did on their own, all different, and unique to their individual styles. I miss John and often wonder, what he would be doing musically now, had he lived?

You are correct, they would have never broken up. Who is to blame for the infighting? Yoko Ono, since she wanted to move the band in a different direction.

They still would have broken up. Everything started going downhill when Brian Epstein, their manager, died. They didn't have him holding them together, and also, they wanted to have their own solo careers and move on.

I think they all wanted to do their individual thing... Was just a matter of time before they would break up.

P.S. I'm pretty sure Heather Mills would make sure they split now..:-)
