It's a family gathering place.
My hubby works midnight to 8 am and we let him sleep until 5pm. That's when our 7 yr old crawls in to wake him up, then I come in and we all sit on the bed and our daughter tells us about her day. Oh, and on Sunday we're all in there reading the paper and telling jokes from the comics.

Many! My house has no heat so in winter I lie in bed to read, study, sew, watch TV etc. The TV and DVD are at the end of the bed along with the satellite radio. I lie in bed covered up warmly and enjoy life.
In summer I lie under the cieling fan and do the same. If I had a mini fridge I'd never have to leave that room except to go potty!
(We also use it to do the "matress mambo" occasionally! LOL)

Yes, it's very handy for dropping on unsolicited callers below who ring the doorbell repeatedly while I'm trying to sleep. It can be a bit tricky manoeuvring it out onto the window ledge but it's worth the effort if only for the fleeting look of surprise on their faces before they're flattened by a kingsized piece of upholstery.

We call it the family room cause I can guarantee there will be more people sitting and watching the TV in that room on my bed than any were else in the house.
